Multiple injuries in Newtown Pechhar Junction collision; Four arrested as investigation unfolds

A significant accident occurred at around 7 am on Sunday morning at the junction of Newtown Pechhar, leaving three individuals, including a bike rider, with serious injuries.

The incident unfolded when a series of cars, involved in a race, collided into the back of a stationary vehicle at the owl turn signal. Prompt response from the Ecopark and Newtown Traffic Police ensured swift action and assistance at the scene.

Eyewitnesses recounted that a cargo vehicle traveling from Newtown Biswa Bangla Gate towards Chinar Park had come to a halt at the minidoor car signal. Suddenly, two four-wheelers lost control and crashed into each other, subsequently striking a bike rider and causing a chain reaction of collisions involving three more vehicles.

In total, six vehicles were caught up in the accident. The injured biker suffered severe injuries and was urgently transported to a nearby private hospital located in Chinarpark for medical treatment.

To facilitate investigations and clear the accident site, the road leading to Chinarpark in Newtown Biswa Bangla Sarni has been closed since Sunday morning. This precautionary measure ensures the safety of motorists and allows the authorities from Echo Park Police and Newtown Traffic Police to carry out their duties effectively.

In relation to the incident, four individuals have been apprehended by law enforcement authorities. The arrests signify progress in identifying those responsible for the accident. The police are urging any witnesses or individuals with relevant information to come forward and aid the ongoing investigation.
